It’s time to start planning your summer holiday. Take the opportunity to get inspired in Marrakech by visiting the Majorelle Garden. In the heart of the ochre city is an Art Deco house in cobalt blue. This shade of blue is now named after its creator and the founder of the garden: « Majorelle Blue ».
The property is surrounded by a botanical garden spanning almost one hectare. Palms, bamboos, cacti, jasmine, cypress, all vegetation imported from the four corners of the world by Jacques Majorelle. The painter traveled around the globe to find varied plants in order to compose his garden over time.
It is with audacity that he brings the primary colors into the city. The artist has made this garden his work of art, whose popularity has today exceeded that of his paintings.
Jacques Majorelle died in 1962. It was in 1980, when the Garden was threatened by a real estate project, that Pierre Bergé and Yves Saint Laurent fell under the charm of the place and decided to buy it back. The Majorelle Garden is then enlarged of 130 species of plants and shaped as its creator wanted.
The Garden is today a must go; let this haven of peace captivate you by its vibrant colors.
