Under Thailand’s humid and sweltering heat, the flower market Pak Khlong Talat in Bangkok brings a real breath of fresh and perfumed air.
Thailand, a country in bloom
Thailand is one of the largest consumer and producer of flowers worldwide. In bracelets, necklaces, crowns, garlands, bouquets, or even to decorate your house or car, flowers are everywhere!
The Pak Khlong Talat market
Pak Khlong Talat was originally a food market but became a flower market over the years. That was a good news for the inhabitants (or even the visitors), as few feet away is the famous reclining buddha temple, the Wat Pho, where the buddhists come to make their flower offerings.
It is a very authentic market, open 24/7. You can see shopkeepers and hotels stocking up in flowers and tourists getting off their Tuk-Tuk.
You can find many species of flowers : orchids, jasmine, hibiscus, roses, lotus, but also seeds, or as on the SecondFlor website, dried flowers.
