Sunflower Maze at the Van Gogh Museum

If you are visiting the Dutch capital, you can’t miss the Van Gogh Museum. It has the most important collection of works by the famous painter Vincent Van Gogh. You will be able to see his most famous paintings such as Van Gogh’s Room in Arles, The Sunflowers, The Potato Eaters and many more… You will have understood, the museum is a must-visit if you are in Amsterdam and if you have an interest in the famous impressionist artist.

New at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam

On September 5 and 6, 2015, on the occasion of the inauguration of the new entrance hall of the Van Gogh museum, a spectacular floral decoration had been installed a few steps from the museum. A labyrinth composed of more than 125,000 sunflowers on the Museumplein. The flowers covered almost half of the famous Amsterdam square.

The labyrinth was open to the public, who could walk through it for free. In addition to observing the thousands of sunflowers present, one could discover hidden rooms with music, illustrations, and even photographs.

A tribute to Vincent van Gogh, who had died 125 years ago in July 2015 and painted several paintings representing sunflowers. Now, these paintings that he had made during his stay in Paris, are famous all over the world.
